Couldn't be happier with the texture!! ( and I'm not easy to please)
So Simple To Make.
Past on from my father who couldn't resist a warm, even textured bread. Dough is simple to make. No heavy kneading and mess. Especially if you own a bread machine! (I have learned to fall in love with mine). Dress the dough up with herbs for supper rolls, add cinnamon for warm breakfast treat. The dough can also be stretched and used for cinnamon rolls as well! Freeze and reheat very nicely!
Homemade Hamburger / Buns.
Ingredients (makes 8 rolls)
-can easily be doubled.
1 Tbsp Yeast
1/2 c. Warm Water
1/2 c. Milk
1 Egg
2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
2 Tbsp Sugar
1 Tsp Salt
3 c. Flour
Directions
Dissolve yeast in warm milk & water.
Add remaining ingredients and stir until combined. Dough will be tacky. If you have a mixer with a dough hook this works perfectly! -If using bread machine add all dry ingredients first, then wet, lastly yeast on top or in yeast dispenser. Place on dough only setting.
After ingredients are combined, cover and let rise in warm place until it grows to double the size. (roughly around an hour). -Skip this step (3) if using Bread machine!!
On floured lightly floured counter top (or wax/parchment paper to keep the mess down) pour out your dough and divide into 8 round rolls.
Place on very lightly greased or nonstick pan of your choice ( I prefer a baking stone for myself) to rise until double size once again. This usually takes around 30 minutes.
Cook in preheated oven. 375 Degrees for around 15-18 Minutes. Melted butter can be wiped on half way through cooking or afterwards!
Carefully remove from oven with one of our custom RLWetland insulated oven mitts / hot pads and ENJOY!!!
